Roslyn Ross-Hoffman
A Contemporary Abstract Painter
Excerpts from my book MOONS, SUNS AND CREATURES: A Gallery of Paintings by Roslyn Ross-Hoffman
For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be an Artist. After college, I started painting in earnest. For 20 years, I was a stock broker and Financial Planner. I finally retired to follow my first passion, art and painting.
As a self-taught artist I discovered how to use acrylic paints. It is by shear will and persistence that I became an abstract painter. The ideas for the paintings come from my imagination and dream-like states of mind. I rely on spontaneity and creativity to express my emotions and observations. My style is very personal and unique. I have developed it from the very beginning when I first began painting.
The techniques I use were learned through listening, practicing and intense observation while in the New York City museums and galleries I walked through. This collection is a testament to my artwork. My goal and a measure of my success is for people to appreciate and enjoy my paintings and to add them to their collection.
